Works well
I got this to use on a couple of older scars and stretch marks that bother me, so I cant say what this will do to new scars, but this worked on mine older ones. The difference isn’t super noticeable in photos but I can tell that they are lighter and feel softer, and I wasn’t as consistent with using this as the directions said to, I usually used it in the morning during my routine and then often at night as well, but sometimes I would forget at night. I still got great results with this and would recommend this to anyone with scars that they are self conscience about.

Great Product
According to the directions, this clear colored scar treatment product should be applied to scars four times a day, so the smaller tube won’t last very long, especially if you have a larger scar or multiple scars. I don’t have any new scars, but I decided to use this on an old scar, and I did not see a major difference in effectiveness overall after regular application, BUT I will say that I did notice it slightly faded. I have a feeling this works better or new scars or recent scars, but either way, it is worth a try. The formula feels nice and it’s very moisturizing, so it’s just an added bonus since you’re also getting good skincare in the process. This scar gel is odorless which is great, especially if you’re sensitive to fragrance and because you are supposed to use it four times daily.

a good option for newer scars
The research does seem to show that a silicon scar treatment can help. I think it is important to do this when scars are just healing up, and I don’t have the personal experience that silicon treatments can help with old scars. I think it is important to keep the new scar covered, and this product sticks pretty well. I try to be consistent and stay patient, as I think it can take a long time to work. The package should last a long time, and the product doesn’t cause any irritation or have an odor that I can perceive.

Cicatricure’s Advanced Scar Gel – 2oz ($24.52) I applied this ~daily to an older scar for a few weeks and I didn’t notice a difference. That said, I didn’t apply it 4x/day (as the instructions asked); so, perhaps if I had I would have had better results. Nonetheless, I expected to have at least some improvement with consistent use, so I am disappointed. Maybe this would work better with a newer scar? Mine is about 1 year old.Because this has good ingredients, and may work on a newer scar when applied 4x/day, I only removed 2 stars.

Anyone who has had experiences riding bikes, motorbikes, mountain bikes, or anything like it will know that inevitably falling off is part of the culture. With that being said, you don’t want to have those gnarly scars with you for too long. I ordered this because I recognized the list of ingredients, and I had an experience back in the day where I fell off my bike and used only my forearm as a slowing mechanism. Long story short, I was worried that the scarring would be so bad that it would remain forever. A friend of mine introduced me to this formular (or one very similar to it), and while it did take a very long time, nobody is able to figure out that my arm was ever used as a type of ablating armor. This stuff is relatively well priced, but do keep in mind you have to use it as much as you use moisturizer for it to work. You’ll also need to work on your diet, and make sure you keep sun exposure to a minimum for a while. The formula (or at least one similar to it) also works for scars which have been there for a while, but the real key in in your diet. Not a strong smell, and you can wear a slight bandage on it without problem. This is NOT a face cream, and you will need something else if you’re looking at blemishes for your face (but the ingredients will be very similar). Overall, not a bad deal, but just make sure to read the instructions. There are some kinds of scars which are harder to heal, so read the label before using for best effect. After your basic antibiotic ointment, this is what follows, in case you’re wondering how it works.

Seems to be making a difference!
I’ve tried a lot scar creams and usually nothing… probably because the majority of my scars are from childhood and I’m well into adulthood now. Anywho, I’ve got this one particular crescent-moon shaped scar on my knee from falling on a clip board (lol).. it’s raised and it’s not the cutest look, so I started just applying that product on that location. To my surprise, it does seem to be improving! I will continue using it as it has not been that long, but I am pleased enough to bother putting it on my other scars as well.I will try and remember to update, but thus far I am pleasantly surprised by this product.

Too much hassle
Make sure you read the directions for this product. You have to use this FOUR times a DAY for SIXTY days. In contrast, the listing brags about seeing results in two weeks. Well, maybe you begin to see some changes in two weeks but who has the time or patience to apply anything four times a day for two months? And unless you’re trying to fade the smallest scar, this tube cannot possibly last that entire time.I will say, this cream did not irritate my skin and was perfectly pleasant to apply. If you’re willing to invest the time and effort and money to try it out, then it’s not going to make anything worse.

Odorless and not sticky!
I am excited to try Cicatricure Advanced Scar Gel for Face & Body – Proven Results in 2 Weeks, Scar Treatment for Surgical Scars, Stretch Marks, Scars of Burns and Injuries, Acne Scar Treatment, 2 oz (56g). The tube reminds me of a crazy glue tube, it’s the same kind of material and you have to puncture the seal with the cap to open. The gel is clear, odorless and does not leave your skin sticky, at all. It easy rubs in and is absorbed by your skin. I have 3 areas I am testing this on: a scar on my knee that’s about a year old, one on my shin that is 2 months old, and a 6 months old curling iron burn on the side of my face. None of these scars are very bad, but I am still hoping the appearance of them can be better. The instructions are to apply 4 times a day for 60 days, so I will update once time has passed.
