Customers find the blow dryer brush works well, cutting dry time to less than half the usual time, and appreciate that it’s easier to use than a separate brush and dryer. The product creates shiny, smooth results, with one customer noting it’s particularly gentle on thin hair. While some customers say it’s worth the price, others consider it a bad investment. The quality receives mixed feedback, with some praising the build while others report it breaking within six months. The heat level also gets mixed reviews, with some finding it warm enough for thin/fine hair while others say it gets too hot.

Basically a magic wand for my fine hair
Let me set the scene: my hair, pre-Drybar brush, looked like I lost a fight with a leaf blower and gave up halfway through styling. Volume? None. Shine? Non-existent. Coordination? Zero. But now? Oh honey—I’m out here looking like I own a Range Rover, and three rescue dogs named after French wines. This drying brush is a game changer. It’s like having a tiny, judgment-free stylist in your hand who doesn’t ask if you’ve been drinking enough water or using heat protectant (mind your business, Susan). It smooths, volumizes, and somehow knows how to flip the ends just right so I look like I’ve got my life together.Yes, it’s a little big. Yes, I hit myself in the head the first time. No, I don’t care. The results were worth the mild concussion. I dried and styled my hair in one go, and for once didn’t look like I just got electrocuted by my own appliances. If you’re on the fence: jump off it. Onto the fabulous side. With this brush. And good hair.

Great dryer so far!
I don’t have any complaints. I tried the Lange dryer and it was trash; left my hair frizzy and didn’t dry very well. Also on the second use; was literally doing my hair with it and it sounded like something dislodged. I also got the bondi boost dryer. Loved it until it started sparking. Could have been a fluke. But I’m really happy with this dryer!! It left my hair silky smoothe and I was tossing my hair about as if I just got out of the salon. Best feeling! For context I have bra length hair. Black and moderately thick hair. It didn’t snag on the machine, my hair just glides off nice. Somehow I like that the bristles are longer. Let’s hope they last!

A good investment
Actual rating of 4.5 stars. I received the Drybar Single Shot on April 3, 2023. The packaging was fine and it looked brand new, which was a relief because I’d seen reviews posted about people getting used products with hair still in the bristles. Yikes! Why I chose Drybar:I watched a lot of comparison videos before I decided on Drybar. I’m okay with splurging a little on something I consider an investment in myself (because how my hair looks affects my confidence), so while the price tag on this brand raised my eyebrows a little, it wasn’t a deal breaker. The biggest thing I looked at was heat damage, because I don’t want to fry my hair. Time and again, the Drybar brand one came back as the one that caused the least amount of damage to hair when used long term (as in a year or more), even compared with a certain less pricey brand that went viral. How it’s going:By the end of my daily workout, my hair is drenched with sweat from my roots to the tip of my ponytail. I’m pretty sure no dry shampoo exists that can help with that situation, so I have to wash my hair (and my body!) every day or it looks, feels, and smells awful. I’ve only had the Single Shot a little over a month, but I use it every day and I haven’t noticed any damage as far as breakage or abnormal hair loss, and my color (dark brown with red highlights) doesn’t seem to fade as fast with the Drybar as when I use my Brazilian Blowout hairdryer.A caveat:I do put heat/UV protective products in my hair before using the Drybar or the hairdryer. If I wasn’t already happy with my current heat/UV products I’d probably try the Drybar products. I still might. There’s really only one way to find out if something works for you, right?Technical notes:My hair is shoulder length, straight, and while it’s not super thick there’s a lot of it. The Single Shot (combined with the aforementioned heat/UV products) leaves my hair smooth and bouncy with a great shine, and it does it quickly, as in 15 minutes on high. I haven’t timed it on low, but I imagine it would only take a few extra minutes. Someone with thick or curly hair might need longer for their hair to dry, but still probably not an unreasonable amount of time. It’s not so heavy that it gets uncomfortable to me, although for someone with wrist or muscular issues it might be different story. Some reviews posted said it was loud, but even set on high I don’t find the noise level terrible; it’s quieter than my hairdryer on high. I wouldn’t expect this tool to be whisper quiet anyway. The Drybar does get hot, but not uncomfortably so, although I haven’t tried running it for long periods of time. Low and high setting seem to have the same amount of heat just differing force of air blowing through and different noise levels. True to the other posted reviews, the cool setting doesn’t blow cool air. I take half a star for that because even though it’s not something I use, at this price point I expect every feature to work.Care and maintenance:The Single Shot is easy to clean; I have something called “The Brush Brush” that I run over it every few uses and it keeps it looking new without taking any of the yellow tips off. Storing it in the box isn’t convenient for frequent use and I feel like if it lays down between uses the bristles will bend, so I purchased a hair tool holder with a space wide enough for the Drybar to stand up on its end and keep the weight off the bristles. So far it’s worked great, and because it has multiple spaces it’s kept my other hair tools (and their looong cords) organized and neat. All in all, I’m happy with my purchase. I feel like Drybar makes a product worth investing in and would buy it again, even with the cool shot issue.

very disappointed 🙁
I’ve had this device in my shopping cart for months! I was really excited to finally order it. I mainly chose Drybar because I read it has more temperature control and won’t get above 250 degrees. I’ve had the similar Revlon product for a few years and it actually burnt off a chunk of my (then bleached) hair back in 2020, so temperature/damage control was important to me when picking a new blow dry brush. That said, this thing got so hot!! Much hotter than I would like, it felt like the same temperature as the revlon after it was running for a few minutes. My biggest issue is that my hair kept getting caught between the top of the gray brush part and the yellow cap. Even once I was aware of it and being more careful + taking smaller sections, it was hard to avoid and it ripped a lot of my hair out, breaking the ends and also ripping some hair from my scalp. Finally, my hair did not even come out very good. I’m familiar with this type of device and how to use it. But my ends came out all frizzy when they should be nice and smoothed down. Overall my hair came out shiny, but not smooth with tons of flyaways. All that said, I did appreciate how lightweight the dryer is, the long cord, and the way it swivels easily. But I will be returning this. I’m wondering if a hair dryer purchased direct from Drybar would be better than from Amazon. I might consider trying that.I tried to take pictures of the strands of hair caught in the brush and how my hair turned out. I would typically expect it to look much smoother than it did turn out. After going back and brushing my hair with a regular brush, the last pic looks okay, but you can zoom in to see all the flyaway hairs curving out. I did use leave-in conditioner and a smoothing blow dry mist/heat protectant from Kristin Ess which usually works great.

Happy to get my dry bar 😊
This dry bar I was so exited to get it but it was great for a while then it was not working any more and instead started to smell burnt, then I reached the factory to claimed and it was replaced right away and they were very nice and quick to respond to my complaints so I still very happy with the product love it. 😊

This is my first review, ever. Usually I can’t be bothered because things either half-work or don’t really work, or aren’t really worth my hard earned money. However, I’ve spent the last 35 years thinking my hair was frizzy because it was unhealthy, and I’ve spent about a billion dollars on products to get rid of the frizz, when all I really needed to do was use this thing. I never bothered drying with a round brush because I couldn’t get the coordination right. However, this thing does it all for you. Probably the best investment I’ve ever made in my hair, and now I can stop buying expensive useless products.

As expected and very quickly delivery

I purchased this item and it arrived in August. When I tried to use it for the first time it started to spark so I unplugged it immediately. I returned the product. Sadly I am still waiting for a refund. To add insult to injury for an expensive product I had to pay the return postage as the seller did not provide a label. So in addition to getting a faulty product I am also out of pocket for the expense of returning it. Not happy with the supplier who has failed to reply to any comments.

E’ usabile solo in America perché in Italia la potenza elettrica è più potente. Non funziona in Italia, fa scintille.

I absolutely love this brush. I have very thick coloured treated shoulder length hair and generally use my Dyson Air Wrap to dry and style it but I still have to use my straighteners to smooth it down. With the Drybar brush I can just dry it off lightly with my hair drying tool and then finish drying and styling in one go, without the need for straighteners, which in turn has improved the texture of my hair. It smooths your hair and makes it shine but also gives it body and bounce if required. In fact, this is the best condition my hair has been in for a long time. If you have the time and the patience you should use it directly on wet hair without any pre drying as the size of the brush enables you to dry your hair very quickly. I would definitely recommend this product.
